2024 CALIFORNIA BREASTFEEDING SUMMIT

This coming year’s summit will take place entirely online from January 23 to 25, and we are looking forward to providing a premier virtual experience for all attendees!

Presented by the California Breastfeeding Coalition, the California Breastfeeding Summit is the premier statewide convening of lactation advocates from every corner of the Golden State!

The overall goal of the summit is to be a catalyst for action, empowering you to address the structural and institutional racism and inequities of lactation care and support that prevent families from meeting their infant feeding goals.

The Summit enables us to present the effectiveness of programs, research, and interventions for continuity of care in human milk feeding support. In addition, the Summit is a forum for attendees to learn best practices, acquire new skills, gain resources, collaborate, and network with peers, colleagues, and exhibitors.

Our annual conference typically attracts about 500 advocates from throughout the state to:

Evaluate our current state of chest/breastfeeding

Explore Best Practices

Acquire New Skills

Share Resources and Tools

Network and Establish New Relationships

Inspire and Motivate Action

Become a Summit Presenter

We are accepting proposals for posters and speakers for the Summit through July 24 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.

One advantage to the Summit being held online is it opens up access to speakers and presenters from throughout the nation.

Poster presentations can be pre-recorded and submitted in advance, but speakers will need to be available for both live and recorded appearances.

Speakers receive complimentary full summit registration and nominal honorarium (when applicable). Registration is required to access speaker functions on the Whova app. Detailed instructions will be provided once registration opens in October.

Join Our Volunteer Team

The 2024 California Breastfeeding Summit will be here before you know it! We are looking for volunteers for roles both before and during the online event.

We are specifically looking for volunteers to review abstracts and award nominations, and to moderate our plenary sessions and workshops.

We know the months leading up to the Summit are busy, and we can’t do this big job without you! Out of gratitude for your volunteer support, the California Breastfeeding Coalition is offering volunteers in the following roles their choice of either a free registration to the event, or a group discount for their organization to allow more members to attend.
